Key Responsibilities- Perform complex and specialized laboratory testing while serving as a primary clinical and technical resource for colleagues.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, supervision, and quality checks for junior laboratory staff and trainees.
- Ensure strict adherence to biosafety compliance and quality assurance protocols at the section level.
- Contribute actively to departmental audits, continuous quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development (CPD).
- Maintain accurate records and demonstrate strong equipment competence, including efficient fault identification and resolution.
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) degree from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of required national internship and NYSC, or possession of a valid exemption certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-registration experience in medical laboratory science practice beyond entry level.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting, guiding, and mentoring junior medical laboratory science personnel.
- Advanced knowledge of multi-disciplinary laboratory practices, quality control, and biosafety standards.
