We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Assistant Chief Laboratory Scientist (Public Health) to join our esteemed network. In this pivotal role, you will provide senior supervision of laboratory operations, support service leadership, oversee diagnostic testing, and ensure strict adherence to quality and biosafety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide senior supervision of laboratory operations and assist in leading the department service.
- Supervise daily laboratory testing and section workflows to guarantee high standards and optimal throughput.
- Support strategic rostering, workload allocation, and effective skill-mix utilization.
- Ensure stringent biosafety compliance, conduct internal audits, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance.
- Supervise, mentor, support, and appraise junior laboratory staff to foster professional growth.
- Handle incident escalation and manage equipment maintenance and vendor liaison efficiently.
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) degree from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8 years of post-registration professional experience, including proven tenure at Principal grade or equivalent.
- Strong, comprehensive knowledge of laboratory practices across various disciplines and quality management systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in staff supervision, performance appraisal, rostering, and workflow optimization.
- Proficiency in supporting biosafety compliance, external quality assurance, and incident management.
- Specialty training or professional certifications relevant to the laboratory discipline will be an added advantage.
