About the Role

We are currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven Principal Instrumentation Design Engineer to join our esteemed technical engineering team in Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will spearhead high-profile engineering design projects, mentor junior professionals, and ensure all instrumentation systems meet the highest international standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the comprehensive design and development of instrumentation and control systems for offshore and onshore oil, gas, and petrochemical facilities.
- Prepare, review, and approve critical engineering deliverables including P&IDs, instrument index, loop diagrams, cause-and-effect matrices, and specification sheets.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant industry codes, international standards, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and clients to align design deliverables with project timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Conduct rigorous technical evaluations, vendor drawing reviews, and factory acceptance testing (FAT) for all instrumentation equipment.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level instrumentation engineers within the department.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 9 to 12 years of progressive instrumentation design experience within the oil, gas, energy, or petrochemical sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in DCS, PLC, ESD, and SCADA system architecture and design.
- In-depth knowledge of international design codes and standards such as ASME, API, ISA, IEC, and IEEE.
- Exceptional leadership, project management, and cross-functional communication abilities.
- Professional engineering certification or active registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., COREN) is highly preferred.
