About the Role
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a dedicated and qualified Primary School Teacher to join our esteemed school community in Ibadan, Nigeria. In this role, you will deliver engaging, student-centered instruction aligned with international curricula, fostering a stimulating and inclusive environment that promotes academic excellence and holistic student development.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and submit comprehensive lesson plans in a timely manner, integrating international framework guidelines and differentiated learning strategies.
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and respectful classroom environment that encourages student engagement, critical thinking, and intercultural understanding.
- Continuously evaluate student academic progress and well-being using diverse assessment methods and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and school administration to support student development and address educational needs promptly.
- Participate actively in school improvement initiatives, professional development programs, extra-curricular activities, and required supervisory duties.
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Education or a related field with a recognized teaching qualification.
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in an international school approved by bodies such as IBO, CIE, AISEN, COBIS, COIS, or AISA.
- Possession of a Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) license or additional international teaching certifications is a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of learner-centered teaching approaches, classroom management, and student safeguarding practices.
