About the Role

Preston International School is seeking a dedicated and reliable Poultry Worker to join our agricultural team. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, and management of birds within our school's poultry unit, ensuring optimal health, hygiene, and productivity while supporting our educational and environmental initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care and management for birds, including consistent feeding and watering.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain poultry houses to uphold strict hygiene and biosecurity standards.
  • Collect, grade, and properly handle eggs to ensure high quality.
  • Monitor the health and welfare of the birds, promptly reporting any signs of illness, disease, or unusual behavior.
  • Maintain accurate farm records regarding feed usage, egg production, and bird mortality.
  • Operate and maintain basic farm equipment safely and effectively.
Qualifications
  • Practical knowledge or hands-on experience in poultry production, farming, or a related agricultural field.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Understanding of basic animal care, hygiene, health, and safety procedures.
  • Strong observation, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant agricultural or vocational training and previous experience will be a distinct advantage.
