About the Role
St. Columbanus Secondary School (SCOSSI) is a prominent co-educational Catholic mission boarding school located in Ikwen, Obot Akara Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Founded in 1959 by the St. Patrick Missionary Fathers, Kiltegan, the institution operates under the Catholic Diocese of Ikot Ekpene. We are widely recognized for combining rigorous academic training with deep moral, spiritual, and character formation. We are currently seeking reliable and hardworking Porters to assist in maintaining our campus facilities and supporting the daily operations of our vibrant boarding community.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the movement of luggage, supplies, and equipment across the school premises.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in designated boarding houses and school grounds.
- Monitor student movement and ensure campus security protocols are strictly observed.
- Assist school administration with general logistics, errands, and event setups.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards promptly to the appropriate department.
- Provide courteous and helpful assistance to students, staff, and visitors.
- Minimum of SSCE/WASSCE or equivalent academic qualification.
- Proven previous experience working as a porter, facility assistant, or in a similar role within a school or hospitality setting is an added advantage.
- Good physical health and stamina to perform manual tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well with teenagers and staff.
- High level of integrity, punctuality, and reliability.
- Ability to reside within or close to Ikwen, Obot Akara LGA, Akwa Ibom State.
