About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and physically fit Porter to join our vibrant academic community within the School of Social Sciences located in Mowe, Ogun State. In this vital support role, you will help maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and control access to university buildings, facilities, and the School of Social Sciences premises.
- Greet students, staff, and visitors professionally, providing directions and assistance as needed.
- Conduct routine security patrols around the designated campus zones to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized access.
- Receive, log, and distribute mail, packages, and deliveries to the appropriate departments or individuals.
- Assist with the setup and arrangement of lecture halls, seminar rooms, and event spaces for academic activities.
- Report any maintenance issues, security breaches, or safety hazards immediately to the appropriate facilities management team.
- Maintain accurate logs of visitors, deliveries, and daily shift activities in accordance with university protocols.
- Candidate must possess a minimum of an SSCE or OND certificate from a recognized institution.
- Must have at least 3 years of verifiable working experience in a similar security, portering, or facility support role.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a polite, professional, and approachable demeanor.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and campus security measures.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle routine inquiries or minor incidents efficiently.
