About the Role
Scruples Resources, a leading consultancy and human resource provider for the Nigerian economy, is seeking a qualified and experienced Pigging Specialist. In this critical role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing pipeline pigging activities, ensuring all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate pipeline pigging activities in accordance with approved work procedures and project requirements.
- Review pipeline information, drawings, pigging procedures, and operational requirements before commencing activities.
- Select and recommend appropriate types of pigs based on pipeline characteristics and intended objectives.
- Support the preparation, inspection, and deployment of pigs and associated pigging equipment.
- Coordinate pig launching, tracking, and receiving operations while providing technical support.
- Support pipeline cleaning, gauging, dewatering, displacement, batching, and integrity management activities.
- Troubleshoot operational problems and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure appropriate safety controls, PTW systems, and risk assessments are strictly implemented.
- Maintain comprehensive records and assist with the preparation of technical reports and documentation.
- HND or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Pipeline Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional training or certification in pipeline pigging and integrity is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience in pipeline pigging operations within the oil and gas sector.
- Thorough understanding of pipeline systems, pig traps, valves, P&IDs, and technical drawings.
- Deep knowledge of pipeline cleaning, batching, dewatering, and inspection processes.
