About the Role
The St. Bridgets Schools, an established educational institution in Aba, Abia State with a proud history dating back to 1987, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical & Health Education (PHE) Teacher for our Junior Secondary School section. We are committed to academic excellence, holistic character development, and preparing future-ready learners through comprehensive education.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-compliant Physical and Health Education lessons for Junior Secondary students.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson notes, practical instructional materials, and continuous assessment tests.
- Maintain effective classroom management and ensure a safe, disciplined, and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and record students' academic progress, physical development, and attendance accurately.
- Encourage physical fitness, sportsmanship, critical thinking, and active student participation.
- Communicate professionally with parents, colleagues, and school management regarding student development.
- Participate actively in school sports events, extracurricular activities, and professional development programs.
- Minimum of an NCE, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Physical and Health Education, Education, or a related discipline.
- Proven teaching experience at the Junior Secondary School level is a distinct advantage.
- Strong knowledge of modern PHE curricula and effective pedagogical approaches.
- Excellent classroom management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and digital learning tools.
- TRCN registration and experience preparing students for BECE are added advantages.
