About the Role
Lead British International School (LBIS), one of Nigeria's premier co-educational institutions, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Phonics Teacher to join our vibrant academic community on a full-time, on-site basis in Oshogbo. In this vital role, you will shape the foundational communication skills of our youngest learners, laying the groundwork for lifelong academic success through innovative and engaging early literacy instruction.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver dynamic phonics lessons focusing on reading, spelling, and pronunciation for early years and primary students.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson materials and instruct students in both small groups and full-class settings.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing targeted support and differentiated instruction for learners with diverse abilities.
- Maintain accurate academic records and collaborate closely with fellow educators and school staff.
- Communicate proactively with parents and caregivers regarding student development and literacy milestones.
- Contribute actively to school-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing overall language and literacy outcomes.
- Uphold the core values of LBIS while fostering a safe, supportive, and motivating classroom environment.
- A solid foundation in Education and Teaching with proven practical experience in early literacy or phonics instruction.
- A relevant teaching qualification or degree in Education or a closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with the British Curriculum and recognized phonics programs or methodologies.
- Demonstrated proficiency in designing effective lesson plans tailored to various learning levels and needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
