About the Role
KAYS Schools is a unique citadel of learning that is child-centered and provides a caring, serene, and Christian environment for pupils and students with diverse abilities. We are currently seeking a passionate and qualified Phonics Teacher to join our committed team of educators. In this role, you will play a vital part in helping our students discover and develop their talents by building a strong foundation in reading, speech, and communication.
Key Responsibilities- Teach phonics sounds, blending, segmenting, and decoding skills using engaging methods such as songs, games, and stories.
- Provide instruction on proper pronunciation, articulation, and accent improvement while conducting reading fluency exercises.
- Prepare structured phonics and diction lesson plans tailored to student age, ability, and learning needs.
- Assess students’ phonemic awareness and reading levels, track progress, and provide targeted support or remedial lessons.
- Create a friendly, supportive, and confidence-building learning environment while maintaining positive discipline.
- Communicate student progress effectively with parents and provide guidance on how to reinforce learning at home.
- Minimum of a Certificate or relevant training in Phonics, Diction, Speech Training, or Education.
- Prior experience teaching phonics or diction to young learners is strongly preferred.
- Strong command of spoken English with impeccable pronunciation and articulation.
- Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage young learners.
