About the Role
Preeminence International Montessori School is a reputable, child-centered private educational institution located in Ugwuogo-Nike, Enugu, Nigeria. We are committed to delivering standard early childhood and primary education that fosters holistic child development. We are currently seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Phonics Teacher to join our exceptional teaching team. In this role, you will play a foundational part in developing children's reading, speaking, and listening skills using effective phonics methodologies. Please note that this position requires the candidate to reside within the school premises as part of our residential staff community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, interactive, and structured phonics lessons to early childhood and primary students.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to improve reading and spelling abilities.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide tailored support to learners who need extra attention.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school management in planning school events and curricular activities.
- Provide leadership and coordination support in literacy-focused programs and school projects.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student development and academic milestones.
- Proven experience in teaching phonics, early childhood, or primary education is a strong advantage.
- Certification or training as a Montessori educator will be considered a significant plus.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a clear, neutral accent.
- Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills with the ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively.
- High level of patience, creativity, and genuine passion for nurturing young minds.
- Willingness to reside within the school premises in Ugwuogo-Nike, Enugu.
