About the Role
Genesis Specialist Hospital, home to a leading surgical center in Lagos with state-of-the-art operating rooms and comprehensive surgical services, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist/Lab Technician to join our dynamic clinical team in Ikeja.
Key Responsibilities- Perform safe and efficient blood collection procedures while ensuring patient comfort and compliance with clinical standards.
- Accurately prepare, label, and process laboratory samples for diagnostic analysis.
- Maintain strict adherence to established safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols within the laboratory.
- Support daily laboratory operations, maintain equipment, and assist with basic diagnostic tests under the direction of senior medical staff.
- Communicate professionally with patients, explaining procedures clearly to alleviate anxiety and provide a reassuring healthcare experience.
- Maintain precise documentation and logs of all specimen collections and laboratory activities.
- Relevant certification or diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, Phlebotomy, or a recognized healthcare field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in blood collection, medical assisting, and general laboratory procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of medical terminology and foundational healthcare practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to accurate recordkeeping.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong patient-centered approach.
- Prior working experience in a reputable hospital or clinical laboratory setting will be a strong advantage.
