About the Role
St. Ives Specialist Hospital, a leading multi-specialist healthcare provider established in 1996, is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team in Festac, Lagos. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient-centered care by supporting our licensed pharmacists in daily operations, ensuring safe and efficient medication management for women, children, and families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist licensed pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately, safely, and efficiently.
- Prepare prescription orders, including precise counting, pouring, packaging, and labeling of medications.
- Manage pharmacy inventory levels, monitor stock expiration dates, and place supply orders as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive patient records and update information accurately on the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Handle incoming phone calls and respond professionally to inquiries from patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing prescriptions, organizing the pharmacy workspace, and maintaining strict cleanliness standards.
- Adhere strictly to all national pharmacy laws, healthcare regulations, and internal hospital safety protocols.
- Possess a relevant certification or qualification as a Pharmacy Technician from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of proven work experience in a hospital or community pharmacy setting.
- Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and basic pharmacy management software.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
