About the Role
St. Ives Specialist Hospital, a leading multi-specialist healthcare provider established in 1996, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist to join our dynamic team in Akowonjo. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering comprehensive family-focused healthcare by ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications, monitoring drug therapies, and providing expert clinical guidance to our patients and medical staff.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately compound and dispense medications as prescribed by medical doctors.
- Monitor patient drug therapies, advise on clinical interventions, and inform patients of potential side effects.
- Provide clear instructions to patients on proper medication administration, dosage, and schedules.
- Conduct health and wellness screenings, administer immunizations, and perform routine vital checks such as blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring.
- Maintain accurate patient records utilizing our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant working environment within the pharmacy department.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by verifying order entries, maintaining controlled substance logs, and promptly removing expired or damaged stock.
- Adhere strictly to all legal rules, regulations, and professional standards governing pharmaceutical practice in Nigeria.
- Possession of a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree.
- Valid practicing license from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
- 3 to 5 years of proven hospital or retail pharmacy experience.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical laws, safety protocols, and EMR systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.
