About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is hiring a skilled Perioperative Nurse to deliver safe, high-quality patient care across all phases of surgical procedures. In this vital role, you will prepare patients, maintain sterile theatre environments, assist surgeons and anaesthesia teams, and manage post-operative recovery to ensure optimal clinical outcomes in a fast-paced medical setting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform thorough pre-operative assessments, verify patient consent, and ensure correct surgical site preparation.
- Function effectively as a scrub or circulating nurse, maintaining strict aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Anticipate surgical team needs, manage instrumentation, and conduct accurate surgical counts.
- Monitor patient vital signs closely during intra-operative and post-operative phases, escalating complications promptly.
- Ensure safe patient transfer to recovery wards, ICUs, or designated units while maintaining comprehensive clinical documentation.
- Comply strictly with infection prevention protocols, hospital policies, and medical waste disposal guidelines.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) practising licence.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BNSc) is an added advantage.
- Post-basic qualification or specialized training in Perioperative/Theatre Nursing is highly desirable.
- 3 to 4 years of proven clinical experience in perioperative care, operating theatre, or surgical nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS certification is an advantage.
