About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Perioperative Care Nurse – Cardiac Surgery to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac surgical procedures. This role spans preoperative assessment, intraoperative support, and postoperative management, requiring clinical expertise and a commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough preoperative assessments and prepare patients for cardiac surgery
- Provide evidence-based perioperative and postoperative nursing care
- Assist surgical teams with cardiac procedures and maintain optimal theatre preparation standards
- Monitor vital signs and patient status, promptly identifying and escalating complications
- Administer medications and treatments with accuracy and safety compliance
- Maintain meticulous patient records and clinical documentation
- Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention, patient safety, and established clinical protocols
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, perfusionists, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Current Registered Nurse qualification with valid NMCN licence
- Minimum 4 years of relevant nursing experience in cardiac surgery, cardiothoracic theatre, ICU, or perioperative care
- Strong clinical assessment, patient monitoring, and emergency response capabilities
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
