About the Role
Ericsson, a global leader in telecommunications technology and services, is recruiting a Packet Core & Cloud Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert. In this pivotal role, you will design, deploy, and operate advanced packet core systems on virtualized and cloud-native infrastructures, bridging traditional telecom expertise with modern cloud platform operations. You will ensure resilient, scalable, and high-performing environments that support mission-critical 4G and 5G services.
Key Responsibilities- Design and manage cloud infrastructure supporting packet core systems on OpenStack and Kubernetes
- Deploy and support virtualized and cloud-native network functions in production environments
- Oversee complete infrastructure lifecycle including installation, upgrades, patching, and scaling operations
- Establish and maintain high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery strategies
- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and resource optimization
- Lead troubleshooting across network, compute, storage, and virtualization layers
- Drive automation initiatives through DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code
- Implement security hardening and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Collaborate with vendors, radio access network teams, transport teams, and IT operations
- Manage incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and drive escalation management
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in telecom core networks and cloud infrastructure
- Deep knowledge of cellular network core architectures and signaling protocols
- Hands-on proficiency with OpenStack and/or Kubernetes environments
- Strong expertise in cloud compute, storage, and networking
- Proven experience in 24/7 production-critical environments
- Expertise in high availability design and disaster recovery
- Strong leadership and team collaboration capabilities
