As an intern, you will work alongside experienced specialists, gaining hands-on clinical experience while delivering compassionate eye care services to our diverse patient population across Edo State and its environs.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, visual acuity tests, and preliminary vision screenings under the supervision of senior optometrists.
- Assist in diagnosing and managing various ocular conditions, diseases, and vision disorders.
- Dispense correct optical lenses, frames, and contact lenses while educating patients on proper eye care and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate patient medical records and documentation in compliance with hospital standards.
- Participate actively in departmental clinical meetings, research initiatives, and community health outreaches.
- Perform any other related clinical duties assigned by the Hospital Management through authorized officers.
- Possession of a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from a recognized and accredited university.
- Must possess provisional registration or a valid graduate practicing license with the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN).
- Evidence of a valid induction certificate and clearance from the relevant regulatory body.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and empathetic patient-care skills.
