We are currently seeking an experienced and independently competent Ophthalmologist to join our growing healthcare team in Nigeria. In this role, you will provide comprehensive ophthalmic care from consultation through investigation, treatment, and discharge, while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive ophthalmic care from initial consultation through investigation, treatment, and discharge.
- Assess and manage general ophthalmic conditions and perform routine ophthalmic surgery competently.
- Provide appropriate preoperative and postoperative patient care while maintaining accurate medical records.
- Supervise optometrists, ophthalmic nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary eye-care team.
- Participate actively in clinical governance, patient-safety initiatives, and quality-improvement activities.
- Possession of a Fellowship in Ophthalmology from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, West African College of Surgeons, or an equivalent Royal College.
- Valid and current registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) along with a current annual practising licence.
- Demonstrated post-fellowship clinical and surgical experience in ophthalmology.
- Proven ability to independently manage general eye conditions and perform routine ophthalmic procedures.
