About the Role
Geoplex Drillteq Limited is the fastest-growing indigenous oilfield service company in Nigeria, dedicated to delivering high-quality upstream solutions across West Africa. We are currently seeking a skilled Operator Trainer to spearhead the competency development of our slickline and wireline field crews. In this vital role, you will bridge theoretical knowledge with practical field application, ensuring our teams execute safe, efficient, and cost-effective well intervention and drilling technology services.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and deliver structured training curricula for slickline and wireline operations, covering equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety protocols.
- Conduct hands-on practical training sessions on slickline units, wireline trucks, pressure control equipment, and perforating systems.
- Evaluate trainee competencies through written examinations, practical assessments, and rigorous on-the-job evaluations.
- Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and competency matrices while identifying skill gaps to recommend targeted interventions.
- Provide on-site coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance during complex slickline fishing and wireline logging operations.
- Ensure all training programs integrate comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols, well control procedures, and emergency response drills.
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on field experience in slickline operations (well intervention, gauge operations, fishing) and/or wireline logging and perforating.
- Demonstrated experience within major oilfield service companies (e.g., Baker Hughes, SLB, Halliburton) is highly desirable.
- Proven background in training and certifying field operators from entry-level to senior competency tiers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data visualization tools for tracking training metrics.
- Valid industry certifications including IWCF/IADC, BOSIET, and other relevant safety credentials.
