About the Role
Human Edge Consulting, a leading human resource consulting and staffing services company established in 1989, is seeking a dynamic Operations Manager. You will manage the Company's day-to-day operational activities, overseeing fleet management, driver administration, vehicle and asset management, maintenance coordination, logistics, safety and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesFleet Management:
- Manage the Company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal availability and utilization
- Maintain accurate fleet registers and monitor vehicle allocation and deployment
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, repairs and roadworthiness compliance
- Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle mileage and maintenance costs
- Evaluate fleet performance and recommend vehicle replacement or acquisition
Driver Administration & Management:
- Manage recruitment, onboarding and deployment of drivers
- Maintain complete driver records including licences, certifications and medical documentation
- Develop driver schedules and monitor attendance and performance
- Investigate driver-related incidents and recommend corrective actions
- Establish and enforce driver performance standards
Asset Management:
- Maintain comprehensive asset registers and ensure proper documentation
- Monitor asset utilization, condition and location
- Establish asset inspection and maintenance schedules
- Conduct periodic physical asset verification
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management or Supply Chain Management
- 5–8 years' relevant experience in operations, fleet management, logistics or transportation
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or management role
- Demonstrable experience managing drivers and vehicle fleets
- Practical experience in vehicle maintenance coordination
- Good knowledge of fleet documentation and vehicle compliance requirements
- Desirable: Assets maintenance, safety compliance, fuel management, budget management and driver management skills
