About the Role
ACO Nigeria, a premier renewable energy provider and subsidiary of ACO Group, is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Operations & Maintenance Engineer to join our Projects team in Kazaure. In this vital role, you will monitor, maintain, and optimize the performance of cutting-edge solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and operational efficiency across our expanding project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor solar PV and battery systems proactively using remote monitoring platforms, SCADA, BMS, and inverter portals.
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and efficient corrective maintenance activities on site.
- Perform comprehensive site inspections, electrical testing, troubleshooting, and rapid fault resolution.
- Monitor critical battery parameters including state of charge (SOC), state of health (SOH), voltage balance, and operating temperature.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, maintenance logs, and root cause analysis reports for management review.
- Support engineering teams during installation, testing, commissioning, and formal system handovers.
- Ensure full compliance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidelines, rigorous HSE standards, and internal company procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on professional experience in solar PV operations and maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience working with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), industrial inverters, SCADA systems, and remote monitoring platforms.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting capabilities and excellent technical reporting skills.
- Relevant OEM certifications will be considered a distinct advantage.
