About the Role
Scruples Resources, a leading consultancy and human resource provider for the Nigerian economy, is seeking a skilled and experienced Operations Geologist to join our dynamic energy sector team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and data integrity of our oil and gas drilling operations across deepwater, shallow water, and onshore environments in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Support HSE aspects of subsurface geological operations and promote strict regulatory compliance.
- Monitor pore pressure, fracture pressure, and temperature data in real-time during drilling activities.
- Ensure absolute security and integrity of well data acquisition and manage geological archives.
- Participate actively in well planning, preparation processes (3W and WSOR), and post-well studies.
- Act as the primary operational interface between Subsurface, Asset, Operations, and HSE teams.
- Contribute to well optimization initiatives, cost reduction efforts, and regional knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate with data acquisition service providers and build strong relationships with local stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Geology from a recognized institution.
- 10 to 12 years of overall professional experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on subsurface operations experience as a Wellsite Geologist, Operations Geologist, Head of Subsurface, or Petrophysical Specialist.
- Comprehensive knowledge of well operations in deepwater, shallow water, and onshore environments.
- Thorough understanding of Exploration (EXPLO) and Exploration & Production (EP) processes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French or Dutch is an added advantage.
