About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is hiring a skilled Operations and Maintenance Engineer to join the fast-growing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) sector in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electric motor and gas engine-driven CNG compressor packages. Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain CNG compressor packages to maximize uptime and minimize operational downtime.
- Monitor operating parameters such as pressure, temperature, oil levels, and vibration.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on compressors, gas engines, motors, and cooling systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and PLC control system faults.
- Conduct leak detection, pressure checks, equipment isolation, and safe system restoration.
- Inspect safety equipment including gas detectors, flame detectors, and emergency shutdown systems.
- Maintain accurate operating logs, maintenance records, and service history reports.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automobile Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in CNG compressor operations, gas compression, or the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with reciprocating compressor maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong working knowledge of PLC/HMI-based control systems and electrical troubleshooting.
- In-depth commitment to safety standards, including PTW, LOTO, and CNG safety protocols.
- OEM experience with major compressor packages such as Atlas Copco or CP is a distinct advantage.
