About the Role

As we expand our operations, we are seeking a talented and proactive Operational & Sustainability Risk Officer to join our dynamic Enterprise Risk Management team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding the bank's assets while driving our commitment to environmental, social, and governance excellence. You will collaborate closely with various business units to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, assess, analyze, and report on adverse operational and sustainability risks across all bank departments.
  • Implement the Enterprise Risk Management framework and ensure adherence to Board-approved operational and sustainability risk policies.
  • Monitor key risk indicators, track loss incidents bank-wide, and develop early detection mechanisms for emerging threats.
  • Embed globally accepted sustainable practices into daily operations and ensure strict compliance with evolving ESG regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk and credit reports for internal stakeholders, the Board, and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain compliance with the Business Continuity Management System in alignment with ISO 22301 standards.
  • Support accurate customer credit information maintenance on the bank's IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss computation tool.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in operational risk, enterprise risk management, internal control, audit, compliance, or sustainability within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Relevant professional certifications in risk management, ESG, audit, or compliance will be a distinct advantage.
  • Deep understanding of operational risk methodologies, internal controls, and business continuity management.
  • Strong working knowledge of ESG principles, sustainability risk frameworks, and Nigerian banking regulations.
