Operational Risk Analyst

About the Role

Rand Merchant Bank (RMB), a leading African corporate and investment bank, is looking for a dynamic and driven Operational Risk Analyst to join our team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the end-to-end management and oversight of operational risk and governance, working closely with the Operational Risk Manager (ORM) and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to ensure robust compliance and risk mitigation across our expanding business operations.

As an Operational Risk Analyst, you will provide comprehensive operational support to ensure our risk objectives are successfully met. Your core duties will include:

• Monitor entity-wide compliance regarding data capture and approvals by due dates, escalating gaps to the ORM as necessary.
• Ensure all Key Risk Indicator (KRI) breaches have requisite action plans in place and support setting or review sessions.
• Monitor the PRCIA review calendar, prompt relevant stakeholders for upcoming reviews, and ensure accurate loss event logging on OpenPages.
• Participate in Operational Risk governance meetings and support departmental administrative activities.
• Prepare detailed operational risk reports as assigned by the ORM or CRO.

Possess a relevant graduate degree with 2 to 5 years of professional experience in investment banking, accounting, audit, management consulting, or related fields.Demonstrate strong proficiency in MS-Excel financial modeling, scenario analysis, and capital structure modeling.Exhibit exceptional analytical skills, high attention to detail, and robust problem-solving capabilities.Display high standards of integrity, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
