About the Role
Scruples Resources, a leading consultancy and human resource provider for the Nigerian economy, is seeking a seasoned Operational Geologist to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will play a vital part in overseeing subsurface operations, ensuring well data integrity, and driving drilling optimization across onshore, shallow-water, and deepwater environments in Nigeria's thriving oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities- Support HSE protocols and comprehensive subsurface geological operations.
- Monitor pore pressure, fracture pressure, and temperature data continuously during drilling.
- Provide real-time geological operations monitoring, evaluation, and geological interpretation.
- Ensure the absolute security, quality, and integrity of well data acquisition processes.
- Participate proactively in well planning and preparation, including 3W and WSOR processes.
- Follow up closely on well operations and conduct thorough post-well geological studies.
- Manage geological archives, secure data storage, and oversee data acquisition service providers.
- Coordinate effectively with Subsurface, Asset, Operations, and HSE multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate actively in technical workshops and critical well operations meetings.
- Support well optimization, cost reduction, and continuous knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Maintain professional and effective relationships with contractors, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree with Honours in Geology from a recognized institution.
- 10 to 12 years of progressive professional experience within the Oil and Gas industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on subsurface operations experience as a Wellsite Geologist, Operations Geologist, Head of Subsurface, or Petrophysical Analysis Specialist.
- Comprehensive knowledge of well operations across deepwater, shallow-water, and onshore environments.
- Thorough understanding of Exploration and Exploration & Production (E&P) lifecycle processes.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proficiency in French and Dutch languages is considered a strong competitive advantage.
