About the Role
Gemameg Company Nigeria Limited, a leading consultancy and support services firm, is seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Officer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health, safety, and environmental procedures to protect our workforce and assets while ensuring full regulatory compliance across all project sites.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive HSE policies and procedures in alignment with Nigerian labor and safety laws.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, hazard identifications, and risk assessments across operational sites.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Facilitate regular safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and emergency drills for staff and support personnel.
- Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all employees.
- Maintain accurate safety records and monitor compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Possession of a B.Sc. or HND in Safety Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven HSE experience, preferably within logistics, construction, maritime, or oil and gas sectors.
- Sound knowledge of local HSE regulations, risk assessment procedures, and incident reporting methodologies.
- Excellent observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of integrity.
