About the Role
Someni Nigeria Limited is an indigenous engineering and construction leader providing specialist services to Nigeria’s oil and gas sector and allied industries since 1993. Headquartered in Effurun, Delta State, we are currently seeking a skilled Chip Spreader Operator to support our expanding infrastructure and civil construction projects across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Operate chip spreaders and other heavy road construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections of machinery to ensure optimal mechanical condition.
- Coordinate with paving crews and project supervisors to ensure accurate aggregate application and smooth workflow.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate daily logs of equipment hours, material usage, and maintenance activities.
- Assist with routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting minor mechanical issues, and reporting major repairs.
- Relevant trade certifications, heavy equipment operating licenses, or equivalent vocational training.
- Proven professional experience operating a chip spreader within road construction or civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of road construction materials, aggregates, and surface treatment techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding construction site environment.
- Valid driver's license and relevant heavy-duty vehicle permits.
