About the Role
Maersk, a global leader in integrated logistics, is seeking a dynamic Operational Excellence Specialist to join our Contract Logistics team in Nigeria. In this field-oriented role, you will drive process improvement initiatives, deploy Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and optimize warehousing and distribution sites across West Africa.
Key Responsibilities- Identify performance gaps and execute continuous improvement initiatives including Kaizen events, 5S, VSM, and root cause analysis across warehouse operations.
- Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and design efficient warehouse layouts using AutoCAD.
- Analyze operational data, build Power BI performance dashboards, and track key metrics relating to productivity, cost reduction, and lead time.
- Embed Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards and ergonomic improvements into all operational processes.
- Coach warehouse teams and act as a local change agent to build a data-driven, problem-solving culture.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, IT, and Finance to ensure regional alignment across Nigeria, Cameroon, Togo, and Benin.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- 0 to 5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or industrial operations with exposure to continuous improvement.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, advanced Excel, and Power BI or similar data analytics tools.
- Bilingual fluency in English and French.
- Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving orientation, and ability to travel regionally as required.
