About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier medical institution dedicated to excellence in patient care, research, and education. We are currently seeking a dynamic and qualified Electrical Superintendent to join our dedicated facility management team. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the electrical infrastructure of our modern healthcare environment, ensuring the safety and efficiency of all hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems and equipment within the hospital premises.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical installations to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repair.
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules for generators, transformers, lighting systems, and critical medical power supplies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and electrical regulatory standards in Nigeria.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical faults promptly to minimize downtime in critical hospital departments.
- Coordinate with external contractors and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for facility upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance works, inventory, and equipment status.
- Possess an OND in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution with a minimum of two years post-qualification cognate experience.
- Additional certifications in electrical engineering or facility management will be an added advantage.
- Must be duly registered with the appropriate professional regulatory body where applicable.
- Possess a valid practicing license where required for electrical operations.
