About the Role
BOURBON Oil & Gas is a global leader in marine services, committed to operational excellence and safety in continental and deepwater offshore operations. We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Officer of the Watch (OOW) Deck to join our dynamic maritime team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will ensure the highest standards of vessel navigation, cargo management, and crew safety while upholding BOURBON's core values.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for safe navigation, voyage preparation, vessel maneuvering, and effective emergency response management.
- Supervise the safe transfer of passengers, cargo, and supplies to and from the vessel.
- Ensure vessel cleanliness, tidiness, and oversee routine deck maintenance schedules.
- Enforce compliance with BOURBON and client safety policies, conducting regular crew familiarization and emergency drills.
- Conduct onboard crew management, mentorship, and routine training sessions.
- Report technical or operational incidents promptly to shore management.
- Ensure the bridge is adequately manned at all times in accordance with safe manning principles and prevailing environmental conditions.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports as required.
- Valid STCW OOW (Officer of the Watch) Unlimited Certificate of Competency.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant maritime experience working on offshore support vessels.
- Valid standard marine certifications including BOSIET/HUET, STCW basic safety training, and valid medical fitness certificate.
- Strong knowledge of maritime safety management systems, ISM, and ISPS codes.
