About the Role
International Medical Corps is looking for a dedicated Officer, MHPSS to join our team in Damboa, supporting the implementation of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) programs for vulnerable communities. This role is central to ensuring quality case management services, capacity building, and strong coordination between field teams, partners, and program leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Support oversight and coordination of MHPSS case management staff, including social workers, psychotherapists, and psychiatrists in the field
- Participate in recruitment of MHPSS field staff and support the preparation of work schedules
- Assist with logistics, procurement, human resources, and budgeting for program activities
- Follow up on program implementation and collect data through reports and data collection sheets
- Represent the MHPSS Department in interagency and local coordination meetings
- Conduct regular visits to Primary Health Care Centers to maintain partner relationships and monitor activities
- Coordinate with the MHPSS pharmacist to ensure proper management of psychotropic medications
- Support monitoring and evaluation efforts, ensuring activities align with project indicators and timelines
- Assist in developing and implementing M&E tools and mechanisms
- Support training needs assessments and develop training plans for the MHPSS case management team
- Ensure proper documentation of training activities, including attendance sheets and reports
- Serve as the main mental health focal point for IMC in the designated area
- Track client data through outpatient records and submit monthly reports
- Conduct file audits and provide technical oversight on case management services
- Prepare and submit regular reports to the M&E team and MHPSS Program Coordinator
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- Master's degree in MHPSS, Public Health, Administration, or Project Cycle Management is an advantage
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in mental health activities and programs
- Familiarity with IASC MHPSS guidelines in emergency settings
- Previous NGO experience in humanitarian or development MHPSS, Health, Protection, or M&E programming
- Strong organizational and managerial skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Fluency in English and relevant local languages
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary settings
- Emotional maturity and adaptability in fast-paced environments
- Computer literacy, including experience with databases and Microsoft Office
