About the Role
ABIS Group, a leading force in Nigeria's rapidly growing livestock processing industry, is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance and Food Safety Officer to join its operations team. This role is critical to ensuring that all food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance standards are consistently upheld throughout the production facility, safeguarding both product integrity and consumer trust.
As a key member of the HSE/QA/QC team, you will be responsible for monitoring critical control points, conducting inspections, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that align with international food safety standards. Key Responsibilities- Monitor and manage critical control points under Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) programs.
- Conduct routine product, environmental, and hygiene inspections to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate quality records, coordinate internal and external audits, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support and drive compliance initiatives related to ISO 22000, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate laboratory testing, sample collection, and verification activities to confirm product safety and quality.
- Collaborate with production and processing teams to identify and resolve quality-related issues promptly.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for regulatory bodies and management review.
- Stay updated on evolving food safety regulations and industry best practices.
- BSc/HND in Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Veterinary Public Health, or a related field.
- HACCP certification is required.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in food processing or meat processing quality systems.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 22000, GMP, and food safety regulatory frameworks.
