About the Role
Helen Keller International is dedicated to saving sight and transforming the lives of vulnerable populations globally through evidence-based vision, health, and nutrition programming. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Officer, Eye Health Programs to support our expanding initiatives in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a critical part in executing, monitoring, and evaluating comprehensive eye health activities, including vital cataract interventions at the state level. You will collaborate closely with government stakeholders, local partners, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are successfully met in alignment with national health policies and donor standards.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate the creation and implementation of detailed annual work plans and implementation plans for cataract surgery and eye health activities.
- Monitor ongoing project progress, ensuring activities remain on track, deliverables are met on time, and project data is securely documented.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure project funds are utilized and retired according to established accounting policies and procedures.
- Partner with monitoring and evaluation teams to implement robust M&E tools and disseminate findings to support organizational learning.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with government authorities and key stakeholders to drive advocacy and program visibility.
- Graduate degree in public health, public administration, management, or a related discipline, with a postgraduate degree considered a strong advantage.
- At least 4 years of proven professional experience in managing community eye health projects.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge in coordinating eye health camps and managing donor-funded health programs.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the state and other parts of Nigeria as required.
