About the Role
SENCO – Special Educational Needs and Consult Ltd is a premier specialized educational consultancy in Nigeria dedicated to redefining inclusive education and empowering children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Operating from Blossom Hall School in Utako, Abuja, and through our flagship SENCO Academy, we bridge critical gaps in the educational sector by offering expert-led interventions, comprehensive school support, and passionate community advocacy. We are currently seeking a dynamic and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our growing multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate children with diverse learning needs and developmental delays to determine specific occupational therapy requirements.
- Design, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to enhance fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with educators, special needs specialists, parents, and support staff to ensure holistic child development.
- Monitor and document each child's progress regularly, adjusting therapeutic strategies and interventions as necessary.
- Conduct professional training sessions and workshops for teachers and parents within the SENCO community.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and provide detailed progress reports in compliance with organizational standards.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant professional certification in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
- Valid practicing license and registration with relevant professional bodies in Nigeria.
- Proven professional experience working with children diagnosed with autism, ADHD, developmental delays, and other special educational needs.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and emotional intelligence skills with a genuine passion for child advocacy.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary educational and healthcare team.
