About the Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and qualified Occupational Health Physician to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead occupational health strategies, oversee medical fitness programs, and ensure the highest standards of workplace health and safety are maintained across all Joint Venture (JV) locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all Occupational Health activities across JV locations on behalf of the Affiliate Occupational Health Manager, ensuring 100% compliance with Annual Medical Certification (AMC).
  • Monitor employee health, conduct pre-employment and post-sickness reviews, and analyze sickness trends to protect productivity and reduce lost time.
  • Perform occupational health risk assessments in collaboration with Industrial Hygiene teams to identify physical, psychological, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards.
  • Oversee workplace hygiene standards, accommodation, catering, food and water safety, pest control, and medical waste management.
  • Conduct annual audits and inspections of JV sites and retainer clinics, ensuring the quality and cost-effectiveness of outsourced medical services.
  • Prepare accurate monthly and annual activity reports, track KPIs, and provide strategic recommendations to management on occupational health risks and trends.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with a Fellowship or specialization in Occupational Health or Occupational Medicine.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience practicing occupational health or medicine, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated competence in Industrial Hygiene, health risk assessments, and epidemic alert monitoring.
  • Valid registration and current practicing license with relevant Nigerian professional medical bodies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian occupational health, medical, and HSE regulations.
