About the Role
The British Council, the UK's leading international organisation for cultural relations, is recruiting an NFE Project Officer to support the delivery of our Non-Formal Education portfolio across Nigeria. This position is essential to our mission of building trust and understanding between the UK and Nigeria through education, arts, and society programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and manage NFE programmes and projects, including Youth Connect, ensuring compliance with British Council policies and procedures
- Oversee project financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure reporting with accurate record maintenance and audit compliance
- Manage vendor performance and relationships, ensuring timely payments and adherence to financial management standards
- Conduct data management, quality assurance, monitoring, analysis, and grants administration across all programmes
- Coordinate procurement, events, training delivery, and records management for the Cultural Engagement team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely service delivery
- Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives, promoting an anti-racist and inclusive culture within programmes
- Bachelor's degree (essential)
- Proven experience in a supporting role on programmes or projects
- Strong administrative and financial administration background
- Sound understanding of monitoring and evaluation concepts and their application to project management
- Professional proficiency in written and verbal English
