About the Role
Fieldbase Services Limited is a leading provider of integrated communication, navigation, and surveillance sales and support services to African industries including Maritime, Oil & Gas, Mining, and NGOs, with offices in Port Harcourt and Lagos. We are looking for an experienced Network Engineering Lead to build and scale our telecommunications network engineering capability from the ground up, focusing on our LTE infrastructure and upcoming 5G network expansion.
Key Responsibilities- Design, dimension, and implement a highly scalable Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and 5G Core infrastructure.
- Lead RF planning, dimensioning, and deployment of TDD-LTE Band 40 (2.3 GHz) infrastructure and small cells.
- Architect resilient hybrid backhaul strategies integrating Starlink capabilities and terrestrial fiber.
- Establish operational workflows, NOC KPIs, and monitoring tools to ensure 99.99% network uptime.
- Design secure Layer 2 and Layer 3 Private LTE solutions for critical enterprise customers in Oil & Gas and Mining.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead high-performing engineering teams across Core, RAN, Transport, and NOC functions.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of telecommunications engineering experience within an MNO or Tier 1 vendor.
- At least 3 years of hands-on Core Network Engineering experience (EPC, 5G Core, MME, SGW, PGW, HSS, PCRF).
- Strong practical expertise in RF planning, optimization, and cell site dimensioning.
- Demonstrated experience in greenfield network deployments and technical team leadership.
- Familiarity with IP networking (OSPF, BGP, MPLS), NFV, SDN, and Kubernetes is highly preferred.
