About the Role
Zitelle Group, a leading manufacturing conglomerate specializing in palm kernel vegetable oil, soap, and plastic production with over 400 employees, is seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy-Duty Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team in Amansea, Anambra State. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of our manufactured goods to various destinations across the region.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including Mercedes-Benz, Actros, and HOWO vehicles.
- Convey and deliver goods to designated destinations safely and on schedule.
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate trip records, including mileage, fuel consumption, delivery details, and relevant documentation.
- Monitor vehicle condition and promptly report mechanical faults or maintenance needs.
- Ensure proper handling, care, and security of goods during transit.
- Follow approved routes, delivery schedules, and company transport policies.
- Comply with all applicable traffic regulations, as well as local and state government laws.
- Maintain high levels of professionalism while ensuring safe and timely goods delivery.
- 5 to 10 years of proven professional experience driving heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Practical, hands-on experience operating Mercedes-Benz, Actros, and HOWO trucks.
- A valid, current driver's licence appropriate for the required vehicle class.
- Strong literacy skills with the ability to read, write, and maintain accurate trip and delivery records.
- Exceptional driving skills and demonstrated endurance for long-distance journeys.
- Sound knowledge of road safety rules, highway codes, and traffic regulations.
- Ability to identify basic vehicle faults and carry out routine preventive vehicle checks.
- Unwavering honesty, discipline, punctuality, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
