About the Role
Candlelight Foundation for Children with Special Needs is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on empowering children diagnosed with Autism, Dyslexia, and ADHD. We strive to create a supportive, resource-rich environment where every child is given the opportunity to thrive and express their unique potential. We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Music Instructor to join our vibrant community on a part-time basis in Ajah, Lagos.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, inclusive, and therapeutic music sessions tailored to children with special needs.
- Teach children how to play various musical instruments while fostering creativity and self-expression.
- Encourage social interaction, confidence-building, and improved communication skills through group and individual music activities.
- Adapt instructional techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles, paces, and behavioral needs.
- Collaborate with support staff and caregivers to monitor progress and ensure a safe, nurturing environment.
- Proficiency in playing and teaching at least three musical instruments.
- Solid understanding of music theory and practical music instruction methodologies.
- Exceptional patience, empathy, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with children with disabilities.
- Prior experience teaching children or working within special education is a distinct advantage.
- Ability to commute to Ajah, Lagos, and commit to teaching at least once a week, preferably every Friday.
