In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of pen moulds to ensure optimal production performance, minimize downtime, and maintain our high standards of product quality. Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance on pen moulds to maximize their operational lifespan and performance.
- Execute precise mould assembly and disassembly for routine cleaning, adjustments, and major repairs.
- Troubleshoot mould-related production defects and technical bottlenecks swiftly to minimize manufacturing downtime.
- Monitor ongoing mould performance and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives to boost reliability and output efficiency.
- Utilize advanced workshop machinery including lathe machines for turning and threading, and surface grinding machines for precision finishing.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on recurring mould failures to implement permanent corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, documentation, and inventory records for all tooling and workshop activities.
- Collaborate closely with production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety standards and standard operating procedures during all maintenance tasks.
- Minimum of an OND or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Tooling, or a related technical discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on professional experience in pen mould maintenance, specifically within plastic injection or pen manufacturing sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in mould structures, components, and precision repair techniques.
- Proficiency in operating workshop machinery such as lathe machines, surface grinders, and general hand tools.
- Strong working knowledge of precision measurement instruments including vernier calipers and micrometers.
