About the Role
First Light Montessori School, an esteemed early childhood learning center located on the vibrant Mainland of Lagos, Nigeria, is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Montessori Directoress. In this vital role, you will champion our commitment to individualized education, utilizing traditional hands-on Montessori materials to inspire young minds and foster a lifelong love for learning in a supportive, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain an authentic, orderly, and engaging Montessori classroom environment that inspires curiosity and exploration.
- Observe and meticulously assess each child's individual needs, interests, and developmental progress, tailoring learning plans accordingly.
- Guide children expertly in the use of specialized Montessori materials and oversee daily individual and group activities.
- Foster independence, self-discipline, mutual respect, and social harmony among all students.
- Maintain regular, professional communication with parents and guardians regarding their children’s developmental milestones and daily progress.
- Ensure a safe, clean, welcoming, and supportive learning environment at all times in compliance with school standards.
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree from a recognized institution.
- At least 1 year of proven professional experience in a similar Montessori teaching role.
- Must hold a recognized Montessori certification or diploma for the relevant age group.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Deep understanding of early childhood development and authentic Montessori philosophy.
