About the Role
PATH is a global health nonprofit leader dedicated to saving lives and improving health equity, particularly among women and children. We are currently seeking a dedicated Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer to support critical MEL practices aimed at improving routine immunization coverage across 16 Local Government Areas in Kebbi State, Nigeria. Based in Kebbi State and reporting to the Senior MEL Officer, you will work closely with government health officials, local partners, and Mobile Immunization Team data collectors to ensure high-quality data capture, robust analysis, and evidence-based program delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with state and LGA health officials to maintain MEL strategies for routine immunization program planning and coverage.
- Contribute to project workplans, deliverables, and indicator tracking tables.
- Support mobile immunization team data collectors to ensure accurate, complete, and timely data collection and reporting.
- Develop and implement data collector training programs aligned with government immunization standards.
- Manage, clean, validate, and analyze quantitative and qualitative routine immunization data.
- Oversee project databases and facilitate data submission into government health information systems including DHIS2 and SMS platforms.
- Create clear data visualizations, presentations, and reports to communicate performance results.
- Facilitate data review meetings and support stakeholder engagement for adaptive management and ward-level microplanning.
- Author monthly, quarterly, and annual project reports highlighting successes and lessons learned.
- Bachelor degree in medicine, public health, statistics, social sciences, or a related field; a master degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation for complex health and development programs.
- Demonstrated experience in training, mentoring, and supervising community health workers and data collectors.
- Familiarity with national health management information systems, specifically DHIS2 and digital data collection tools.
- Strong background in managing, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets from diverse sources.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in English.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within Kebbi State for project activities.
