About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Millwright Fitter Technician to join our operations in Lagos, Nigeria. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, alignment, and repair of heavy mechanical equipment and rotating machinery, ensuring maximum plant efficiency, safety, and reliability across our world-class manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Install, assemble, commission, and align industrial mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and compressors according to strict engineering standards.
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and perform corrective repairs to minimize unexpected downtime and optimize equipment lifespan.
- Diagnose mechanical faults, abnormal vibrations, and component failures, implementing effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis techniques.
- Repair and replace worn mechanical components such as bearings, seals, couplings, shafts, and valves.
- Maintain strict compliance with HSE guidelines, permit-to-work protocols, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety regulations.
- Accurately document maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history logs using computerized maintenance management systems.
- National Diploma (ND) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a relevant discipline, OR Trade Test Grade I, II, and III in Mechanical Fitting or Millwright.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing, cement, power, or heavy processing plant.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, using precision measuring tools, and performing shaft alignments and bearing installations.
