About the Role
Zamfara State Government invites applications from qualified and compassionate Registered Midwives to join our healthcare workforce and make a meaningful impact on maternal and child health outcomes across the state. This role offers the opportunity to provide critical midwifery services in a dynamic healthcare environment while contributing to the well-being of families in Zamfara State.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to pregnant women and new mothers
- Conduct safe and effective deliveries in accordance with clinical best practices and protocols
- Monitor maternal and fetal health status throughout pregnancy and labour
- Perform emergency midwifery interventions and provide skilled birth attendance
- Counsel and educate clients on reproductive health, family planning, and newborn care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation
- Undertake shift duties, emergency assignments, and on-call responsibilities as required
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Valid Registered Midwife (RM) Certificate issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN)
- Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc) with midwifery qualification (where applicable)
- Current and valid NMCN Professional Registration Certificate
- NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate (where applicable)
- Age between 18 and 40 years at application
- Must be a certified indigene of Zamfara State
- Valid National Identification Number (NIN)
- Medically and physically fit for employment
- No criminal record and not dismissed from previous public service
- Willing to undertake flexible working hours and emergency assignments
- Recent passport photograph
- Birth certificate or Declaration of Age
- Local Government Indigene Certificate or Certificate of State of Origin
- Valid NIN Slip or Card
- All relevant academic qualification certificates
- Professional registration certificate from NMCN
- Internship completion certificate (where applicable)
- NYSC documentation (where required)
