About the Role
International Medical Corps is looking for a dedicated and experienced Midwife to join our health team, delivering lifesaving maternal and newborn health services to women and children in underserved and disaster-affected communities. Key Responsibilities- Implement antenatal and postnatal care, safe delivery services, and emergency obstetric and newborn care (BEmONC and CEmONC)
- Provide clinical care for survivors of gender-based violence and manage STI cases appropriately
- Assess feasibility of referrals from Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) to OPD/MCH units
- Maintain hygiene, sterilization, and universal precaution standards at all times
- Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of biomedical equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly
- Monitor and manage regular supply of drugs and equipment for maternity services
- Ensure patient privacy, confidentiality, and proper admission/hospitalization procedures
- Conduct skilled deliveries independently and manage obstetric emergencies per national and international protocols
- Supervise use of drugs, facilities, and obstetric materials for MNH services
- Deliver quality OPD and inpatient care, including health education and interdepartmental collaboration
- Ensure accurate daily documentation of ANC, delivery, PNC, and referral data
- Support integrated maternal and infant care, including mental health and nutrition services
- Provide breastfeeding counseling on positioning, attachment, and feeding frequency
- Prepare and submit timely, accurate reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Completion of a clinical midwifery education program with a General Nursing and Midwifery Certificate
- Valid license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council or an equivalent accrediting body
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a professional midwife, preferably in low-resource settings
- Proficiency in English and local languages is mandatory
- Basic computer literacy, including Word, Excel, and Internet use
