About the Role
Beta Glass Plc, a proud member of the Frigoglass Group, is a strategic partner to international beverage bottlers and a major supplier of glass packaging across West and Central Africa. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Microbiologist to join our Crowns Plant in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. In this vital role, you will ensure strict compliance with regulatory and food safety requirements through the prevention, control, and elimination of microbiological risks, safeguarding product quality and consumer safety.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor, interpret, and report microbiological test results while engaging with regulatory bodies and consultants to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
- Conduct sampling and coordinate follow-up of in-house drinking water physicochemical and microbiological analyses in line with regulatory standards.
- Coordinate air quality monitoring, personnel swab testing, and food safety hygiene assessments.
- Investigate food safety-related illnesses or health concerns through internal clinic records to prevent cross-contamination and promote employee well-being.
- Monitor, review, and report on pest control activities to ensure effective implementation of food safety standards.
- Support ESG assessments, serve as the facility Sustainability Representative, and drive sustainability initiatives.
- Participate in hazard analyses and risk assessments to identify biological contamination risks and recommend corrective measures.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 22000, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 management systems for internal and external audits.
- Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Microbiology, Environmental Science, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience in a similar manufacturing or laboratory role.
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate statistical analysis and reporting.
