About the Role

Medecins Du Monde (MdM) is an independent international medical organization delivering healthcare to vulnerable populations affected by crises, conflicts, and displacement. We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Supervisor to lead our Cholera Treatment Unit (CTU) in Damboa, Nigeria, ensuring rapid, effective, and evidence-based emergency health responses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall clinical and operational oversight of the CTU, ensuring adherence to MdM, FMoH, and WHO cholera case management protocols.
  • Supervise clinical staff, including medical doctors, nurses, and community health workers, delivering bedside mentoring and continuous capacity building.
  • Implement and monitor strict Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures, waste management, and patient cohorting within the facility.
  • Oversee daily surveillance, data collection, and reporting of key performance indicators such as Case Fatality Rates and treatment outcomes.
  • Coordinate medical logistics and supply chain management in collaboration with pharmacy and logistics teams to maintain adequate essential commodities.
  • Liaise closely with government health authorities, humanitarian partners, and internal multidisciplinary sectors for an integrated outbreak response.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree with additional relevant health certifications being an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in humanitarian contexts, health facility supervision, or outbreak management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in emergency health programming, MoH structures, and Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities under high-pressure environments.
  • Fluency in English with proficiency in local languages considered an asset.
